Latino recognition society for the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary's College and Holy Cross College
Application Information
The LHS application only needs to be completed ONCE to become a member of the Society. Once admitted, members will need to reapply each semester to remain an Active Member.
Active Members may apply for Honorary Status each semester to graduate with a cord. Active Members who have obtained Honorary Status for 4 semesters (see requirements below) will be honored with a cord at the Latino Recognition Ceremony of Senior year to wear proudly upon Commencement.
*If admitted into the Society but you do not meet the Active Member requirements for a given semester, STAY INVOLVED with us and don't stray away! You are still a member of LHS and can depend on our resources and support to help you get back on track to reapply the following semester.

To maintain Active Member status, you must maintain a 3.25 GPA based on the previous semester

To achieve HONORARY STATUS, you must meet the following requirements:

Maintain a minimum 3.35 semester GPA (*Honorary Status requires a slightly higher GPA)

Submit the Honorary Status Application
The Honorary Status Application includes:

Official transcript submitted to latinohs@nd.edu
-
An option of:
10 cultural & 5 service hours OR
5 cultural & 10 service hours
* Honorary Status must be renewed each semester
To earn a LHS recognition cord for graduation:
-
Be an Active Member with honorary status for at least 1 semester in your JUNIOR YEAR
-
Be an Active Member with honorary status for at least 1 semester in your SENIOR YEAR
-
Be an Active Member for 2 additional semesters
-
These semesters may include Active Membership from any undergraduate semester

You can still earn a cord for graduation if you satisfy the following:

Had at least one semester GPA of 3.35 or above in your Junior year (whether you applied for honorary status or not)

Must submit transcript to latinohs@nd.edu to verify

Are an active member for the Fall 2014 semester

Apply for and obtain honorary status based on Fall 2014 semester GPA

Complete and record 5 culture/10 service OR 5 service/10 culture hours in Spring 2015 semester
